Monday was a Holiday.... and then I sipped Tea on Tuesday. But where was I on Wednesday!!! LOL
Oh well, it was like the warm blood running through my veins. It was time for me to take a drive - antique junk-hunting that is! And for my newest passion! And boy oh boy did I find a beauty! The bottom label said Hertel Jacobs China (Barvaria Germany)!
And I consider it a very unusual find! I'd love to hear from a hundred other collectors if you have this set! I surveyed the Replacements site... but it was a bit much and not enough descriptors.
I googles out "warrior with spear", African man, Black Collectible,.... jungle-dance-spear-Black Man??
None the less and all the more . . . .
The cup shape is almost triangular --- the first in my collection!

Now..... PTL ... who would have thought I could have found my African American Heritage in a tea-cup! I think I'll ad this post to my Family genealogy blog (Lest We Forget) !!!
Porzellfabrik Hertel, Jacob & Co. G.m.b.H.
(1913 until 1979)
The Hertel, Jacob & Co. factory was closed shortly before 1980 ....
Hi Beverly! Thanks for your comment on my blog! I've scrolled down and have enjoyed seeing your pretty teacups. It's especially nice to find ones that are meaningful. I see this is a new blog for you. I will have to check out your other blogs as time allows. One of these days I'm going to get back to joining in the tea parties! Blessings to you and yours, Bess
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous collection! I'd never see it nor heard of that maker. You are one very lucky lady!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled for these as well. Great find!
